More staff chaos at Everton as behind-the-scenes update now emerges - report

Dan Purdy has reportedly retuned to Everton, while Tom Gardner has now left Goodison Park.

The Merseyside club has seen a mass turnover in terms of staff so far this season, as the likes of Purdy left with Marcel Brands and Rafa Benitez, with Frank Lampard replacing the latter as manager, and Kevin Thelwell coming in as their new Director of Football (DoF).

The sheer ‘panic‘ at board level over financial worries off of the pitch, and performances on it, has led to the board pushing the red button a few times already, and that now seems to be evident with the latest staff turnover.

As per Training Ground Guru, Purdy has now returned to the Toffees as their Scouting and Operations Manager, just three months after resigning from the same position.

He was persuaded to come back by Thelwell, while Gardner, who was their Head of Performance Analysis, has now left through the exit door.

He is now a Consultant Projects Manager for FIFA, and follows the likes of Brands and Benitez in leaving the club this campaign.

The fact that Purdy has returned after just three months, and Gardner is the latest name to have left the Blues this term, is quite frankly ridiculous.

There have simply been too many staff changes at all levels since the end of the 2017/18 season, and the fact that EFC now find themselves in serious danger of relegation echoes what is going on above the players – chaos.

The board have started the project of building the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock as well, and the fact that they could now get relegated just further shows the lack of preparation and financial thought that they have put in in running the football club over the last few years.
