More honours for batting prodigy 'Baby AB' Brevis as he is named in U19 CWC team of the tournament

Following a stellar run of scores during the U19 Cricket World Cup, it comes as no surprise that South Africa's Dewald Brevis was on Sunday named in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) team of the tournament.

On Thursday, in their final match against Bangladesh, Brevis smashed 138 from 130 balls to help his side to a seventh-place overall finish, with the ICC naming him the overall player of the tournament.

That century him to a tally of 506, giving him the overall record for the tournament, beating out previous recording-holder Shikhar Dhawan, who achieved his milestone almost two decades ago.

Brevis registered two 100s and three 50s during the event and picked up seven wickets with his handy leg-spinners.

'Baby AB' as he has become known, is the only South African in the side in which eight nations are represented, of which tournament winners India provided three of the 12-man squad.

The selection panel that decided on the team of the tournament was made up of commentators Samuel Badree, South Africa's Natalie Germanos, journalist Sandipan Banerjee and match referee Graeme Labrooy.
