SA teenage cricket sensation Dewald Brevis sold for R6m in IPL auction

South African teenage cricket sensation Dewald Brevis was sold to the Mumbai Indians for 3 crore (R6 million) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction on Saturday.

Brevis, who has been dubbed 'Baby AB' in reference to AB de Villiers, was a star performer for the SA under-19 team in the recently completed World Cup in the West Indies.

He scored 506 runs to be the leading run-scorer in the tournament's history.

Brevis, who currently plays for the Titans in the CSA T20 Challenge, will now head to India later this year to represent the five-time IPL champions.
