Monaghan rack up big tally to dispense with Down
Monaghan cruised through to the Ulster SFC semi-finals with a 0-23 to 2-7 win over Down at Clones.
The Farney men eased into a nine-point lead, with Jack McCarron hitting four, but Caolan Mooney gave the Mourne men a lifeline with a stoppage-time goal, sending them in at the break trailing by 0-12 to 1-4.
Pat Havern grabbed a second goal immediately after the restart, but Monaghan were unruffled, regaining control to win with plenty to spare, getting eleven of their players on the score-board.
It's the Tailteann Cup for relegated Down.
