Derry surprise Monaghan to continue Ulster run
Derry shocked Monaghan with a 3-12 to 0-17 win at the Athletic Grounds to reach their first Ulster final since 2011.
The Oak Leafers stunned the Farney men with first half goals from Gareth McKinless and Benny Heron, along with five Shane McGuigan points as they went in at the interval with a 2-7 to 0-6 lead.
Monaghan, with Jack McCarron and Conor McManus hitting the target, got the deficit back to three, but Derry clinched it with Heron's second goal in the 61st minute.
