Moment suspect is hit by car after fleeing from police

A man was hit by a car after he ran off from police while his vehicle was being searched in Bolton. The suspect had been stopped on Blackburn Road on Wednesday afternoon (September 4).

Officers pulled over the vehicle at around 2.40pm. As it was being searched at the roadside, the suspect is then said to have fled the scene.

He was later involved in a collision with a nearby car and was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said, before he was discharged a short time later.

Dramatic dashcam footage of the incident shows the suspect attempting to cross Blackburn Road, weaving through traffic. Seconds later, he is struck by a silver Vauxhall and falls into the road as a police officer kneels down to check on him.

The man, aged in his 20s, was later arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and taken into custody for questioning. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2.40pm, officers stopped a vehicle in Blackburn Road, Bolton.

"During a subsequent search, a suspect made off and collided with a nearby car. He was subsequently taken to hospital with minor injuries, and was discharged shortly after.

"A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs."
