Moment fire extinguishers were let off at traffic and people on town's streets

This was the moment fire extinguishers were let off by men on motorbikes on a town's streets. Police have launched an investigation after the fire extinguishers were set off among traffic and pedestrians in Warrington.

Cheshire Police says at around 1pm last Monday (July 15), two motorbikes - with two men sitting on each - were spotted riding at dangerous speeds and on pedestrianised areas of Winwick Road, Winwick Street and Liverpool Road, as well as in Warrington town centre. They were also seen spraying fire extinguishers into live lanes of traffic and directly at members of the public.

The force has today (July 23) released a dramatic image of the extinguishers being let off at a roundabout, where someone is trying to drive their car. Enquiries are ongoing, and police have now also released CCTV images of four men they would like to speak to in relation to the incident (below).

Police Constable Matt Salmon, of the Northern Problem Solving Team at Cheshire Police, said: “This behaviour is completely inexcusable and I would like to reassure local residents that enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible. We want to establish exactly what took place during the incident, and we believe these individuals hold vital information, so if you recognise the identities of any of the men pictured, please get in touch with us.

“I would also appeal directly to the men pictured to contact us." Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police online or call 101, quoting 24000617654.
