Details of Fosun's long-term vision for Wolverhampton Wanderers' iconic Molineux Stadium have been released in the city's latest investment prospectus.

Chinese conglomerate Fosun unveiled grand plans to redevelop Molineux back in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic led to stadium work being shelved. Wolves chairman Jeff Shi has previously admitted his wish to build a 50,000 capacity stadium in the city.

The Wolverhampton investment prospectus, which was presented to the UK Real Estate, Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) on Tuesday, includes plans to revamp Molineux and the surrounding areas. A summary says the presentation "reflects the changes brought about by the pandemic and presents an ambitious vision of how the city can grow – highlighting opportunities to build on the £4.4billion of public and private sector investment already on site or in the pipeline in the city."

A new 'Molineux Quarter' is supposedly in the pipeline, which is "centred around expanding the football stadium and university with potential for new commercial/leisure development." A picture showing what part of 'Molineux Quarter' could look like is included at the top of the article. The cost and start date of the work hasn't been revealed yet.
