Molineux latest news: 'No reason' why Wolves can't qualify for Europe this season

Transfer insider Dean Jones reckons there’s absolutely nothing stopping Wolves from qualifying for Europe this season.

Wolves have been flying high under Bruno Lage this term and could bring European football back to Molineux providing they end the campaign strongly.

Following their 13th-place finish in 2020-2021, even the most optimistic Wolves fan would have surely been more than happy with even a shot at finishing in the top-six.

Remarkably, heading into tonight’s crunch clash at Arsenal, Lage’s side are in the conversation to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Wolves might find themselves in seventh, but they have three games in hand on Manchester United and West Ham and will leapfrog the Gunners with a second successive victory at the Emirates.

Furthermore, they’re one of the most in-form sides in the top-flight, collecting 15 points from their last six games, which includes wins at Manchester United and Tottenham. Only Liverpool have won more points (16) in that period.

Therefore, despite the fixture list not easing up in the coming weeks, Jones doesn’t think anything is stopping Wolves from finishing in the European places.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s going to be really interesting to see how Wolves end this campaign. There’s absolutely no reason why they can’t be playing in Europe next season.”

Wolves might have three games in hand on some of their European rivals, but they’ve got an extremely tough run in.

In their final 14 games, they have to travel to Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea, and Liverpool, with the latter two their final two away fixtures.
