Mohammed Kudus has proven he fits Erik ten Hag's Manchester United vision amid links

Ajax star Mohammed Kudus has proven Erik ten Hag was right to bring him to Amsterdam in 2020.

Kudus has enjoyed a standout season both domestically and international. The 22-year-old has featured as a centre forward, attacking midfielder, central midfielder and right winger for the Eredivisie club, yet his performances have not dipped.

With 16 goals in 32 appearances, Kudus is enjoying a purple patch this campaign despite Ajax lagging three points behind Feyenoord in the league. In Qatar, the forward marked his name on the world stage. He was Ghana's main man in the group stages, his brace against South Korea in particular earmarked him for greater things to come, so it was no surprise that in recent weeks, Kudus has been linked to a reunion with Ten Hag.

It is understood that United's boss has made contact with Kudus to see if a move to Old Trafford would tempt him. While his form in the Netherlands has been superb, there are indications that he would be interested in a switch to the North West.

Before Ghana's last match at the World Cup against Uruguay, Kudus explained it was the influence of Ten Hag which convinced him to join Ajax. He explained in an interview with Algemeen Dagblad: "Because the club is known for developing talent, I talked about that with trainer Erik ten Hag.

"In his style of play, creative and attacking, I saw myself. It was exactly in line with my personal qualities and how I wanted to develop."
