Ex-Manchester United star Gary Neville has conceded that while Mohamed Salah is "absolutely amazing", there are two players he would rather his former side try to sign.

Salah has been widely regarded as the best player in world football over the last calendar year, with his goal tally from this season alone making for astonishing reading.

The Egypt international has bagged 29 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this term as well as guiding his national side to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, though they were eventually toppled by Senegal.

The 29-year-old's stellar form saw him receive a nomination for the 2021 Ballon d'Or, but the gong was eventually taken home by Lionel Messi for a record seventh time while Salah only came in seventh place.

Neville has confessed that though there is "no doubt" Salah is one of the most gifted players on the planet, the arrival of Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe at Old Trafford would spark more excitement in him.
