Minster beat Hayes in top-of-the-table Kent Cricket League Premier Division match while Bickley Park, Sevenoaks Vine, Lordswood and Bexley win too

Captain Ed Moore led from the front on Saturday as Minster won their top-of-the-table Kent League Premier Division clash against Hayes.

He top-scored with 83 in their innings before he did his bit with the ball too.

Batting first, Minster posted 285-6 from 50 overs, with Aron Nijjar (77) and Greg Lamb (51 not out) also hitting quickfire half-centuries.

Opening bowler Stuart Eddicott and Connor Byrne were the pick of the Hayes bowlers, ending with figures of 2-32 and 2-54, respectively.

William MacVicar struck an unbeaten 115 for Hayes but they were 267 all out after exactly 50 overs.

Opening bowlers Daniel Masters (2-27) and David Masters (2-33), along with Moore (2-41), were among the wickets for Minster who now top the table and are 11 points ahead of second-placed Hayes.

Bexley earned a two-run win away to Sandwich Town.

Adam Ball helped to lead them to 215-9 from 50 overs with 72 not out off just 58 balls while Jan Gray (3-39) was the pick of the home team’s bowlers.

In reply, Tom Burnap hit a patient 67 but Sandwich could only reach 213-9, as Shaun Evans (3-47) shone with the ball for Bexley who are fifth while Sandwich are now second-bottom.

Skipper Luke Schlemmer’s 101 helped lead Sevenoaks Vine to a 70-run victory over third-placed Blackheath.

Wicketkeeper Harry Houillon (68) was also among the runs as Sevenoaks posted 256-6 from 50 overs while Arafat Bhuiyan (2-60) and Tanweer Sikandar (2-64) took two wickets apiece for Blackheath.

Sevenoaks opening bowler Matthew Dalton (3-31) and Sam Jones (3-35) turned the screw in Blackheath’s reply and, despite wicketkeeper Ross Richardson top-scoring with 34, Blackheath were 186 all out in the 43rd over.

Bickley Park beat basement boys Beckenham by five wickets.
