Millwall’s two most underwhelming signings from the last 5 years and why – Do you agree?

Millwall are having a strong season in the Championship this year currently sitting tenth in the league, only four points away from the play-offs.

Although there’s a strong fight for the play-offs, who will make it at the end of the season is still very much open and Millwall have a great chance of getting a place in there themselves.

With their first game after the international break being against third placed Luton, Millwall aren’t going to have an easy job on their hands but will no doubt give it a big push as we reach the end of the season.

Although they clearly have a strong squad right now, they haven’t always recruited the best talent over the years.

Here we take a look at arguably two of Millwall’s most underwhelming singings from the last five years.

Tom Elliot

Striker Tom Elliot joined Millwall in 2017 joining from AFC Wimbledon.

Since playing for Cambridge United in the Conference in the 2012-13 season, Elliot had risen up the leagues to League Two and League One.

Despite finding it hard to settle in at some clubs, he was generally scoring and assisting goals regularly.

In the season before he joined Millwall, he had scored nine goals and also had four assists to his name.

However, when he joined Millwall in the Championship he seemed unable to help his team score goals.

In 24 league appearances in his first season with Millwall he scored four goals and got one assist whilst in his second season from 33 appearances he got three goals and two assists.

By the time of his third season, he was loaned out to Salford City in League Two and the move was subsequently made permanent.

Although it would have been hard for Elliot to adjust to the step up to Championship level, his small number of goal contributions meant
