Mikey Johnston masterclass as Celtic loanee soars to new heights on day wingers are in short supply

Mikey Johnston left West Brom fans in amazement once again as he produced a masterclass at Huddersfield.

The Celtic loanee has been nothing short of sensational since making the switch to the English Championship side as he took his tally to four goals in his last three games and SIX overall at the Hawthorns in just nine outings. Brendan Rodgers handed him a chance in the Hoops team but decided it was best to let him leave for more first team minutes during the January window and it is a decision that has paid off for the player. As he continues his brilliance south of the border, his parent side are short on wingers.

West Brom fans have already seen enough of the Republic of Ireland international to know what they want when the summer opens for business. One supporter wrote on X: "3 words left for him. Sign him up.." Another fan posted: "You sit down with Mr Rodgers and give them whatever they want for him." Another Baggies diehard was in agreement writing: "Just "Name a price @CelticFC".

The Celtic winger was also involved in making West Brom's third goal as wriggled past four players before poking the ball into the path of his team-mateOkay Yokuşlu who smashed home a stunner from range. The 4-1 away win over Huddersfield leaves Johnston and his new colleagues fifth in the English Championship standings.

They hold a five point cushion over Hull City in seventh in the hunt for the play-offs and a crack at reaching the richest game in club football in a bid to gain a spot in the English Premier League. They are no strangers to the top flight over the years and would love nothing more than a return to the top of the pyramid for next season.
