Mikey Johnston in brutal Charlie Adam putdown as former Celtic star ranks him BOTTOM among Premier League cult heroes

Mikey Johnston gave Charlie Adam short shrift when asked to rank 10 'streets won't forget' footballers - blindly sticking the former Rangers star bottom of the pile.

The former Celtic wide-man is now in the door at West Brom after sealing a £3m move late in the summer window. It will be his second spell at the West Midlands club having starred for the Baggies on loan in the second half of last season and they won the battle with several Championship rivals to bring him in.

He hardly needed any introducing to the fans after netting seven goals for them last season, but Johnston's arrival has come alongside some social media fun and games to let punters get to know him better. On their official TikTok channel, the 25-year-old was asked to rank 10 'streets won't forget' footballers and was shown images of a number of cult Premier League stars from years gone by.

But when shown Adam - just the second on the list after Yannick Bolasie - he simply said 'What?' with a dismissive expression, and put him straight in at the bottom of the list. To make some of us feel old, Johnston showed his age - admitting he hadn't heard of James Beattie and wasn't 'old enough' to appreciate the wonders of Man City hero Elano.

Adel Taraabt, Hatem Ben Arfa and Stephane Sessegnon took his top three. Johnston signed off: 'It's disrespectful, but I don't know a lot of them, sorry lads!'
