Mikey Devlin seals Hibs transfer as Lee Johnson explains 'the perfect blend' that sealed move

Mikey Devlin has officially put pen to paper on a contract at Hibs until the end of the season.

The centre-back shone at Hamilton and earned himself a move to Aberdeen, although he left last season after his time at Pittodrie was plagued by injury. He moved to Fleetwood Town with Scott Brown but couldn't find regular game time in League One and has been training with Lee Johnson's men recently after leaving the Cod Army.

As Record Sport revealed on Sunday night, Hibs were lined up to hand him the rest of the season as the push for European places in the Premiership and adjust to life without influential defender Ryan Porteous, who moved to Watford in the January transfer window. Johnson said of the move for Devlin: "We’re delighted to bring Mikey to the club and add depth in our defensive area. We have been impressed with him in training over the last week.

"By bringing him in permanently it gives us the perfect blend at centre-half having two experienced players and two talented youngsters. He’s a good character and his experience of Scottish football will benefit the group, we look forward to continuing working with him.”
