Mikel Arteta raises Celtic transfer intrigue as Kieran Tierney on alert amid 'still time for exits' hint

Mikel Arteta has put Kieran Tierney on the transfer watch as he admits there's time yet for Arsenal exits to beckon amid Celtic return chatter.

The left-back is reportedly willing to slash his hefty wages at the Emirates Stadium in order to make a return to the Premeirship champions reality, although a permanent deal is all but out the question with Arsenal likely to demand a significant fee. Newcastle United are also keen on him but boss Eddie Howe has said they will need to be 'creative' with their work this window.

After big spending on the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber, Arteta has said there could still be business ahead. And in a teasing update for Celtic, exits are not ruled out. He said when asked if people should expect more incomings or whether the focus will shift to outgoings: "Let's see. There’s a lot of time in the market still.

"We’ll have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks. We will be alert, there’s still time to do things, there’s still time for exits obviously. I am sure things will move."
