Mohamed Reda addresses Celtic transfer hype as one suitor shut down amid 'very interested' Parkhead stance

Mohamed Reda claims Celtic were "very interested" in signing him earlier in the window - and refused to rule out a switch to Parkhead later in the summer.

The 22-year-old, who goes by his nickname Bobo, has been making waves with Future FC in his homeland and reports earlier this month claimed he was on Brendan Rodgers' agenda. Versatile playmaker Reda racked up five goals and four assists last season and Sky Sports reported he was of serious interest to Celtic Park chiefs.

And he's now addressed that directly saying Celtic were "very interested" while Al-Ahly were also keen. He was less enthusiastic about Zamalek in his homeland, though as he said: "There was a lot of interest in me over the summer. Al Ahly talked to me a few times, but they couldn't reach an agreement with my club Future FC. I don't think Zamalek were ever really serious about a potential transfer with me to be honest.

"But Scottish club Celtic were very interested in me either in a loan or a transfer. Nothing has happened so far though so I will just concentrate on playing football for Future FC."

Bobo was called up for Egypt for the first time this summer after making 27 appearances for Future in the league this season, scoring four goals and providing nine assists.
