As the dust settles on Mikel Arteta's 40th birthday, the youngest manager in the Premier League will no doubt already have his mind on Arsenal's next Premier League clash away at Crystal Palace in eight days time.

The Spaniard is a football obsessive, constantly thinking of ways to restore the Gunners to their former glories and new systems to deploy with his young and vibrant squad, but the feel-good factor currently enjoyed at the Emirates has not always been there during Arteta's reign.

On the contrary, parts of last season were arguably the lowest period in Gunners history of the last 25 years.
