Mike Tyson's crossover showdown against Jake Paul sees ringside tickets soar to $2MILLION
Ringside seats for the upcoming fight between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTube sensation Jake Paul have been listed at a staggering $2MILLION (£1.55million).
The bout, which was initially scheduled for July but later postponed, will now take place on Friday, November 15 at the ATandT Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The stadium, which can accommodate up to 80,000 spectators and is home to the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, is anticipated to be packed out as Tyson comes out of retirement to face off against Paul, who transitioned from online fame to professional boxing.
On Friday, consulting firm Elevate unveiled its luxurious $2million (£1.55million) ringside hospitality package. The 'MVP Owner's Experience' includes a private suite that can seat two people less than six feet away from the action. Additional benefits include an opportunity to meet Tyson and Paul before the fight, being onstage during the weigh-in, autographed gloves from both fighters, a personal concierge, and a security detail throughout the week leading up to the fight.
Tickets start at a modest $37 (£29) on SeatGeek, the official online broker for the match, while three ringside seats are priced at $50,000 (£38k) each. A number of high-profile celebrities are expected to attend the event in two weeks, with both Tyson and Paul having substantial fan bases, reports the Mirror.
Tyson, who celebrated his 58th birthday in June, is adamant that he's taking on Paul, 27, to challenge himself. "This money from this fight is not gonna change my lifestyle or life one percentage, I will always be able to live this way; I could use a buck like everyone else, but this is not for financial reasons," the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world recently expressed
