Mike Tyson commentating on brutal punch as a 19-year-old is still a brilliant moment

Mike Tyson is a special human being.

Today we are running it back to one of many classic Tyson performances.

Hungry, determined and animalistic in the way he went about his fighting, a young Iron Mike was a man that was feared by any heavyweight boxer throughout the ’80s and ’90s.

A lot has changed in boxing over the past 40 years or so, but one thing will always remain constant… Mike Tyson was an absolute savage.

Tyson had racked up a whopping 15 fights in only his first year as a professional boxer. Crazy right?

For reference, both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have amassed only 14 fights between them, in the past five years.

Only a year later in 1986, Tyson fought 13 times, simultaneously clinching his first heavyweight title.

Before he could legally buy an alcoholic drink in the USA, Iron Mike had racked up 30 professional bouts, an animal in his own right, we will never see anything quite like a young Tyson again.

Mike emerged onto the professional boxing scene at the tender age of 18 years old and unlike anything we have seen before, he was fully formed and ready for the title.

It was clearly obvious he was destined for greatness.

This iconic clip shows a young Tyson commentating on his knockout win over Lorenzo Canady after only his 7th pro-fight.

Canady was one of Mikes 15 unfortunate victims during his remarkable first year as a professional boxer.

A 19-year-old Tyson sent Canady sprawling across the ropes with a brutal left hand, before he was inevitably finished off by a flurry of heavy blows that slumped Lorenzo to his knees. The fight lasted 65 seconds.
