Michael Owen disagrees with pundits on Leeds vs Manchester United prediction

Manchester United will be looking to build on Tuesday evening's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion when they travel to Elland Road to face arch rivals Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.

United, who beat Leeds 5-1 on the opening day of the season at Old Trafford back in August, will be looking to bolster their top-four prospects by recording a second consecutive win, after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes sealed a much-needed win in midweek.

Considering United had failed to win any of their three games prior to the clash with Brighton, despite taking the lead in all of them, it was a victory that has allowed Ralf Rangnick to prepare for Sunday's game with one less weight of pressure on his shoulders.

A victory at Elland Road will keep United in the top-four regardless of West Ham United's result against Newcastle United on Saturday, meaning the ball, for now, is firmly in the Reds' court.

But how do the pundits think United will get on against Marcelo Bielsa's side?

"This should be a good game, because both sides have got something to prove at the moment and it's normally pretty lively when they play each other anyway," Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

"Leeds didn't really turn up last week against Everton at Goodison, but there is no danger of that happening when Manchester United are at Elland Road.

"Manchester United were far from convincing when I watched them beat Brighton on Tuesday. Again, the result was on a knife edge until right near the end but they are still picking up points despite not playing particularly well, and I think they will beat Leeds.
