Jadon Sancho makes confident Manchester United prediction as he gives verdict on early-season form

Jadon Sancho has claimed he's only just getting started at Manchester United having rediscovered his form since the turn of the year.

The 21-year-old arrived at Old Trafford last summer as one of several high-profile signings made by the club. While fellow summer recruits Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed immediate success at United, Sancho struggled to live up to the hype that surrounded his arrival.

Having notched just a single Premier League goal by the start of February, pundits and rivals fans alike were already questioning the hefty fee United paid for his services. However, his last five league outings have seen him record four goal contributions, with his fine form earning him United's player of the month award for February.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, the England international acknowledged his poor early-season form but believes he has turned a corner. He explained: "I'm very self-critical. It certainly isn't my best season, but I learned a lot. A new league, new teammates.

"I would say that I'm only now really starting to break free. I feel more and more comfortable and happy."

Sancho believes his recent display at Elland Road, where he grabbed two assists in a 4-2 victory over Leeds, could turn out to be a key moment in his United career. "I was voted player of the match - I would say that was one of my best performances for Manchester United.

"But it's still about evolving for me. I can do a lot better."
