Michael Beale wants Rangers unity but insists fans are entitled to protest as he responds to Ibrox banner

Michael Beale says he "understands" the frustration from a section of the Rangers support who are calling for change behind the scenes at the club.

The Rangers boss believes the fans are entitled to their opinions on how the Ibrox club has been run, but revealed it was his job to keep the outside noise away from his players. The Union Bears Rangers supporters group unveiled a banner during the first half of the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday which read, 'After fifty-five titles you took your eye off the ball. Time for change'. Supporters around the ground were seen clapping and cheering the banner after it was unfurled.

Another banner was unveiled showing fans protesting against sporting director Ross Wilson and managing director Stewart Robertson. The Light Blues fans upped their protests following the Viaplay Cup final defeat to Celtic at Hampden at the end of last month.

During his press conference, ahead of the Hibernian game at Easter Road on Wednesday evening, Beale was asked if the protests concerned him. He replied: "No, it's not. I'm in here working every day. Listen, the fans are entitled to make their feelings known when they do, they support the team at other times fantastically. They put their money in and they come and we'd be a lot worse off without our fans, I think that's fair to say.

"I would like it if we were all together but I understand at times there's going to be discontent. When we lose a cup final in the way that we played, I think in the days after you are going to see a reaction from the fans and it's important that you see a reaction from the players on the pitch.
