Michael Beale sets Rangers timeline for Alfredo Morelos talks as he claims 'no truth' in Sevilla rumours

Michael Beale says there is no truth in recent rumours linking Alfredo Morelos away from Rangers as talks over his future are booked for later this season.

It has been claimed by some reports in Spain that Sevilla have agreed a pre-contract with the Colombian forward who is out of contract at the end of the season. That's resulted in almost a week of discussion on what comes next for the striker and Beale himself labelled the La Liga giants as a 'good club' following a 3-0 win over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals last weekend.

But after talks with Morelos, Beale has been able to confirm that such rumours circulating in Europe have no base of substance to them. Antonio Colak has been the starting striker for the last three games and Rangers take on Motherwell this weekend on Premiership business. Speaking on Morelos' future, Beale provided an update by saying: "I've spoken with Alfredo (Morelos) about the recent rumours and there is no truth in that.

"We will sit down and discuss his situation later in the season. Since I have returned Alfredo has been fantastic, there have been no issues whatsoever and I think people sometimes try to force this.

"If you look at his goal involvement per game you can see his quality. I want to build something for next 3/4 years. The club have a lot of options this summer.

"There are almost two jobs going on. Improving the team now and behind-the-scenes working towards what Rangers will look like when we return for pre-season."
