Michael Beale urges Rangers to shut PSV noise up and turn heat on the hosts in Champions League fire pit

Last year Rangers parked up at PSV’s Philips Stadion to find a smoke-filled scene of chaos.

Michael Beale ’s now the man looking to light the fuse on a second shock and he’s been given assurances by UEFA there will be no repeat of the mad antics outside that forced one of the Light Blues’ two team buses into an emergency detour and almost delaying kick-off after the locals swarmed the stadium gates with a frenzied pyro display. The Ibrox gaffer expects the PSV punters will be out to create another deafening Dutch din as they look to roar their side through to the group stages for the first time in five years following last week's 2-2 draw in Glasgow.

But if Gers can dodge their way through the flash bangs and smoke bombs he's expecting to light up the combustible opening stages, Beale is predicting the home support might just turn their fire on their own side. He said: “PSV have a home game to win to go in the Champions League group stage so they’ll be supremely confident of that, I’m sure. We have to be the thorn in the side.

"I think their crowd will be behind them just like ours was at Ibrox. That can do one of two things. I felt last week at times we were a little bit emotional in the game. It can unnerve you as much as it can be a big help.

“The coaches have changed for both teams and there weren’t many players who played last week who were involved in those previous games. Everybody is aware of what happened and the motivation is equal to last year. I don’t see it being any bigger on both sides.
