Mesut Ozil: Sergio Ramos' epic show of support after Mourinho bust-up at Madrid

It was announced on Thursday that former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been ‘excluded’ from the Fenerbahce squad. In a statement announcing the suspension of both Ozil and former Watford loanee Ozan Tufan, the Turkish club declined to give a reason behind their decision.

According to a report from Football.London, though, the 33-year-old is believed to have been disciplined as a result of a bust-up with the Turkish Süper Lig side’s interim manager, Ismail Kartal.

Already understood to be frustrated at his lack of playing time recently, Ozil was said to have been furious over being substituted at half-time during Fenerbahce’s win over Konyaspor last Sunday and vented at Kartal afterwards, leading to his ‘exclusion’ from the squad.

The suspension marks the latest in a long line of clashes that Ozil has had with managers throughout his controversial career.

“He stopped and looked at me with his dark brown eyes. I leaned back. It was like the look of two boxers
