Men armed with metal bat and knife steal family jewellery in terrifying burglary

Two men armed with weapons burgled a house of jewellery and cash in a 'disturbing incident' last week. Police were called to Walker Lane, in Hyde, around 11pm on August 4 where an aggravated burglary had taken place.

The house had been burgled by two males, police say, where the occupant and their daughter were threatened throughout. One of the men was carrying a knife while the other was carrying a metal bat to carry out the burglary.

Police are now appealing for information to help find the two men and the stolen goods. No injuries were reported from the incident but those involved were disturbed by it, police say.

During the raid a thick gold bangle, five thinner bangles, and a sum of cash were taken. They dropped some of the bracelets as they left the property which are identical to the ones shared in this article.

One of the men was wearing a black face covering at the time with holes cut out for their eyes and mouth. They are white and in their early 20s, and the victims believe he had a ginger beard, police say.

He was also wearing a black long sleeved hooded top and black gloves with the fingertips missing at the time. Their knife was around three inches long with a black hand, police added.

The other man was smaller and had black clothes on. The bat he held was metal and silver in colour.

Detective Constable Lucy Jones of GMP Tameside said: “Thankfully the victims weren’t seriously injured but this obviously and understandably a disturbing incident and something which they should not have had to experience. "Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with information or footage showing two men
