Meghan Markle's one-word response to seeing Kate Middleton

Meeting your partner's family for the first time can be nerve-wracking, and it was no different for Meghan Markle when she had to meet the British Royal Family.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, once shared her initial thoughts about Princess Kate after meeting her at a private dinner hosted by Prince Harry, one year into their relationship. Prince Harry first noticed Meghan on Instagram in 2016 and invited her for dinner at Soho House in London. The pair continued to go on dates and even spent a week camping together.

After their engagement in 2017, they spoke with the BBC's Mishal Hussein about Meghan's first encounter with Kate. Harry said at the time: "It was exciting I mean I've - you know I'd been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn't tell anybody at all.", reports the Mirror Online.

Meghan then added with a single word: "Wonderful."

She praised the Royal Family for their warm welcome and remembered the special moment when she met the late Queen for the first time.

Meghan shared: "I think, you know, to be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honour and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me so that when I met her I had such a deep understanding and of course incredible respect for being able to have that time with her."
