Kate Middleton has confirmed she is being treated for cancer. The Princess of Wales revealed her diagnosis in an emotional video message on Friday evening.
It comes weeks after the princess was admitted to hospital for abdominal surgery in January. Kate spent a total of 13 days at the London Clinic – the same private hospital where the King underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The planned operation was a success and, at the time, the Palace said the procedure was not cancer-related. However, today it confirmed that test results later showed cancer had been present.

At 6pm on Friday, the 42-year-old future Queen released a video from Windsor thanking the public for messages of support and asking for "time, space and privacy" following her diagnosis.
She said the diagnosis came as a "huge shock" and confirmed she has now started treatment. The princess also paid tribute to her family, describing husband William as a "a great source of comfort and reassurance".
The announcement comes amid huge public interest in the princess's condition and whereabouts in recent days, with online conspiracy theories about her health spiralling.
