Meath and Kildare book U20 semi-final spots
Meath and Kildare both progressed to the Leinster U20 football semi-finals, setting up ties with Dublin and Laois respectively.
In Ashbourne, Meath overcame Westmeath in an extremely low-scoring affair, winning 0-08 to 1-03. Captain Eoghan Frayne struck 0-04, with Ciaran Caulfield and Liam Stafford accounting for the scores from the victors. The visitors goals arrived via an injury-time penalty, much too late to rescue the result.
In Darver, Kildare beat Louth 0-12 to 1-06 to set up, Callum Bolton slotting three points from play as they booked their place in the last four.
Meath now face Dublin, while Kildare take on Laois in next Tuesday's provincial semi-finals. Dublin and Laois are the only teams sitting on an 100% record so far, having won all their three games in the round-robin phase and progressing directly to the last four.
