Mead, Miedema, Kerr, Williamson: WSL North v South all-star teams imagined

Todd Boehly’s suggestion of a Premier League North vs South all-star match has got us thinking –– what if this happened with Women’s Super League players? 

This type of exhibition match is adored in the USA and is a huge part of the MLB, NBA and NFL calendar. 

While the idea has been heavily criticised by many, it is interesting to imagine the hypothetical line-ups for a WSL North vs South game –– especially when you consider how many world-class players play in England right now. 

We’ve therefore devised two starting XIs for if the match was to happen today and also added a few honourable mentions. 

It’s important to note that these teams are purely subjective and based on performances recently. Indeed, there is every chance both sides would look considerably different if we were to do this later on in the season.
