Premier League vs Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga: How the XIs would look in All-Star match

Premier League chiefs are ‘considering’ the prospect of an All-Star game that would see a best XI from the English top-flight face off against other major European leagues.

The idea is an adaption of the concept first put forward by new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly which would see a Premier League North vs South XI compete in a special one-off feature match.

The American cited that he wished for English football to learn from American sports and consider making adaptions to improve the entertainment value of their competitions.

However, the suggestion was met with widespread condemnation across much of the footballing world with many criticising Boehly for overreaching in a sport he knew so little about.

Interestingly, though, the Premier League’s decision makers are reportedly very sweet on creating a spin off to the concept, similar to that which we see in America, where an MLS XI faces off against an XI from Mexico’s LIGA MX.

That’s what The Times are reporting at least, per The Daily Mail, who go on to explain that the games would not take place during the Premier League season but rather in breaks, allowing the sport to be showcased in developing markets.

That means that any such matches would likely take place outside of Europe, for example in Asia or the United States.

Whilst many might be more receptive of the idea than the initially suggested North vs South XI, it is expected that Premier League managers will not be overly keen on the idea, especially those who take part in European competitions.

It remains to be seen whether the public will take to the latest potential proposition.

Although of one thing we are absolutely certain – the star-studded teams for each league could be absolutely phenomenal.
