McVitie's is selling new flavour of chocolate biscuits that leaves fans drooling

McVitie's announced a new flavour of chocolate Digestive is going to hit store shelves - and fans are excited.

The usual milk and dark chocolate blends will still be available to members of the public along with a festive-themed addition to shelves this holiday period. While it may be a little early to celebrate Christmas, store shelves are already preparing for the holiday period and with it, a "festive edition" of the McVitie's classic.

The new flavour was posted to Instagram as fans froth at the mouth over the new gingerbread-flavoured item. But it seems some fans of the biscuit brand are having trouble locating the item.

One Instagram comment read: "I cannot find these anywhere. I've been to 4 different Sainsbury's near Stockport." Another user tagged their friend and wrote: "You need to find me these in Sainsbury's." But while some were left asking McVitie's to "not f**k with perfection," others wondered if the taste was worth the trouble.

A user suggested they were not and wrote: "I felt there isn’t an overly gingerbread taste while eating them, but they leave the gingerbread taste as an afterthought lol."

An official product description on Asda's website reads: "A festive twist on the popular McVitie's Milk Chocolate Digestives, these delicious Gingerbread flavour biscuits have been infused with a warming gingerbread flavour and lots of cheer. These festive Chocolate Digestives are perfect for dunking in your tea or leaving out for Rudolph and his friends."
