Mbeumo joins new Man United team-mates, striker search - Ruben Amorim to-do list for pre-season

Manchester United's players have started to return to pre-season this week as preparations begin to step up ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Ruben Amorim will be taking charge of his first pre-season as United boss as he gears up for his first full season in charge.

United are expected to be busy in the transfer market - both in terms of incomings and outgoings - but progress has been slow on that front so far.

Matheus Cunha has arrived in a £62.5million transfer from Wolves while teenage defender Diego Leon has joined from Cerro Porteno.

That's where the signings have stopped, though, while United are yet to sell any players despite a number of players being up for sale.

With that in mind, here is a look at some of the key things on the United manager's to-do list.

United are confident they will sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo and the Cameroon international is keen to make the move to Old Trafford.

Two bids for the 25-year-old have been rejected so far but there is a confidence a deal will get done this summer.

Mbeumo scored 20 goals last season and is expected to line up alongside Cunha in the two attacking midfield roles in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation.
