Max Verstappen makes his Formula 1 goals clear: 'I want to win more titles'

Newly-crowned Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen is proud of his achievement but remains hungry for more success with Red Bull.

The Dutchman secured the 2022 Drivers' Championship, for his second successive title, at the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend with four races left on the calendar.

The 25-year-old revealed after the race that he is still eager for glory and is convinced that Red Bull can enjoy another winning season if they can keep the team together next year.

"Well, I have a few more years in F1," Verstappen told the media when asked about his future.

"I hope that we can be competitive for a few more years, I want to win more races, and potentially, I want to try and win more titles. But of course, that's not going to change what I've already achieved. It is something I'm really proud of.

"Everyone within the team, and everyone who is involved with us, they deserve even more than what we are showing at the moment. As long as we can keep them all together. I think we are capable of even more great seasons."

The race win at Suzuka also saw Verstappen equal Fernando Alonso's tally of 32 F1 Grand Prix victories.

The next race on the calendar is the United States GP, hosted at Circuit of The Americas in Austin on 23 October.
