Matthew Perry: New details emerge of Friends star's death at 54 as tributes pour in
Friends star Matthew Perry died in an apparent drowning in his hot tub as tributes poured in from across the world to the iconic actor.
Perry was found dead at home aged 54. He rose to fame as the star of hit show Friends, playing Chandler Bing in one of the most popular TV shows of all time.
The Los Angeles Times and celebrity website TMZ have reported that Perry died in his hot tub. Perry was found dead in an apparent drowning, his representative told NBC News.

A source has since told TMZ that Perry died after he had played a two hour round of pickleball - a racket sport with two or four players batting a ball over a net - on Saturday morning, the Mirror reports. He then sent his assitant on an errand, who returned to Perry's house to find him unresponsive with emergency services then called.
First responders rushed to the scene and attempted a 'water rescue' but efforts to save the actor were unsuccessful and he was declared dead in an apparent drowning.
Officers from the LA Police Department's robbery-homicide division were also sent but a source said no drugs or signs of foul play were found at the scene. An investigation is now underway.
A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson said first responders went to an address in the Pacific Palisades area, regarding a "water emergency" of an unknown type, but did not name Perry.
