Man City transfer news LIVE deadline day latest on Matheus Nunes deal and Cole Palmer to Chelsea

Manchester City usually have their transfer business completed well in advance of deadline day. But it looks like today could be a busy one for the Blues.

City agreed to pay £53m (€62m), for midfielder Matheus Nunes. who should complete his move to Manchester ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline. Midfielder Tommy Doyle is set to head to Molineux in a separate season-long loan deal. Doyle will join Wolves on a temporary basis with a £5m option to buy next summer. If Wolves trigger that option, City will hold a significant sell-on clause for a future sale.

Meanwhile, it's reported that Chelsea look set to complete the signing of Blues starlet Cole Palmer in a deal worth around £50m. Guardiola suggested earlier this month the forward could leave despite promising performances in the Community Shield and Uefa Super Cup.

There could still be other moves, with Joao Cancelo expected to finalise a loan move to Barcelona and interest continuing in James McAtee. While the MEN understands that City won't entertain a permanent move away for McAtee, they wouldn't stand in his way if he felt that a loan deal would be in his best interests.

The transfer window is in full swing and City have been busy, with high-profile signings and sales aplenty.

City snapped up Croatian pair Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol from Chelsea and RB Leipzig respectively with the latest addition being Jeremy Doku. In terms of outgoings, Treble winner Ilkay Gundogan departed for Barcelona, while Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez moved to Saudi Arabia.
