Mateu Lahoz: La Liga referee books four players at once in Getafe v Mallorca

Legendary Premier League referee Mike Dean is retiring at the end of the season.

The Englishman, now 53, has been a referee in England’s top flight since 2000 and has decided it’s time to call it a day.

Dean has become a popular figure after producing multiple bizarre moments on the pitch.

Dean may be calling it a day in the next few months, but at least we’ll still have Antonio Mateu Lahoz.

After players from both sides clashed, Lahoz felt the need to take action.

He called over Getafe’s Enes Unal and Sandro Ramirez, as well as Mallorca’s Giovanni Gonzalez and Franco Russo, and booked them all in a space of a second.

Lahoz also gave Getafe a penalty, which was missed by Unal.

Despite wasting a golden opportunity from the spot, the home side went on to win 1-0 courtesy of Borja Mayoral’s 82nd minute goal.

Lahoz was also the man in charge for last year’s Champions League final.

He produced a viral moment in that game, too. In the 57th minute, Lahoz
