Martin Lewis’ tips to cut mobile bill for those 'being ripped off'

Martin Lewis has remarked that a lot of people are "being ripped off" on their mobile contracts.

During this week's episode of ITV's Martin Lewis Money Show Live, the money-saving expert issued advice on how viewers could save a significant amount of cash every month by cutting their contract prices. Speaking to his audience, Martin remarked that most people are "being ripped off on your mobile bill and you need to take action to change it".

He noted that in 2021, you would pay £16 for the very cheapest 100GB deal which has now dropped to £7 a month, stressing that one viewer should not be paying as much as £37 a month. He laid out three key steps billpayers should take to try and cut their mobile costs.

Firstly, billpayers must check if they are out of contract for the mobile they're currently paying for. This can be done by texting 'INFO' to 85075, otherwise, Martin noted that if you've been on the same contract for more than two years, you're likely out of contract.

If you are out of contract, the next thing Martin advises is to use a "cheap sim comparison" site to see what better prices are on the market. Once you've found the deal that's right for you, all you need to do is text PAC to 65075 which will allow you to keep your current phone number.

He stressed that people shouldn't be to worried about their network connection, adding: "There are only four mobile networks in the UK, actual networks that provide signals, every other company is piggybacking.
