Martin Lewis issues 'crucial' request to anyone over 45 ahead of sharing advice on 'biggest' lifetime finance boost

Martin Lewis has issued a request to anyone aged over 45 ahead of some 'crucial' advice he is sharing on pensions. The founder of Money Saving Expert is returning to TV tonight for his ITV show tonight (June 13) titled The Martin Lewis Money Show Live.

The show sees Martin, 51, bring his best money-saving tips to the public as he focuses on different topics each week. Alongside his co-host Angellica Bell, the financial expert takes questions from viewers in the hopes to cut through the confusion people have when it comes to their finances.

Ahead of Tuesday's show, Martin took to Twitter to issue a plea to his fans who are aged between 45 and 70 as he revealed one of the main topics for the 'crucial' upcoming edition.

Reaching out to his 2.2 million Twitter followers, Martin tweeted: "A wee request. At 8pm tonight @itvmlshow's back with a crucial show on boosting the state pension (maybe by £10,000s).

"It's a must watch for 45-70s as for many it's the biggest single lifetime financial improvement possible. Yet few know it's on. If you can pls spread word!

"PS I'm also covering energy fixing too."

Martin's request comes after Minister for Pensions Laura Trott is today calling on pensioners to check if they are eligible for Pension Credit ahead of the launch of a new 'Invitation to Claim' trial.

Pension Credit is worth more than £3,500 a year on average and helps with daily living costs for people over State Pension age and those who are on a low income.

The benefit tops up a person’s income to a minimum of £201.05 per week for single pensioners and to £306.85 for couples – or more if a person has a disability or caring responsibilities,
