Marks & Spencer Trafford megastore prepares to open - with giveaways to first 200 through the doors

New signs have gone up at the vast new Marks & Spencer megastore at the Trafford Centre ahead of its grand opening next week. And store bosses have revealed there will be a special giveaway to the first 200 people through the doors on Thursday, November 30.

The countdown is now on to the opening of the store which M&S are hailing a "brand-new, bigger, better M&S Trafford Centre store". They have taken over the huge space left by Debenhams at Regent Crescent, to replace the existing M&S at the other end of the shopping mall.

Staff from the existing store will move across to the new shop next week, while a further 180 new jobs have been created with the opening of the vast new 98,000 sq ft store. It will feature a fresh "market-style" Foodhall, spacious clothing, home and beauty departments as well as a new 152-seat M&S Café.

Now bosses have confirmed the special events that will be happening to welcome shoppers into the new store on Thursday. It will include a tempting "golden ticket" giveaway.

Percy Pig will be on-hand to welcome shoppers to the new store as the team hands out 200 golden tickets to the first customers through the doors. Every golden ticket holder will be guaranteed a win so it's expected that huge queues may well form ready for the 10am opening.

Prizes will range from a free bag of Percy Pigs or freshly baked cookies from the new M&S Bakery, while one lucky customer will win a £200 voucher to spend in store.
