Mark Wright on Soccer Aid 2022 has angry ITV viewers blasting 'weapon' for 'stealing' penalty

Soccer Aid returned for 2022 tonight as celebrities including Tom Grennan and Liam Payne donned England shirts and squared off against footballing legends like Cafu and Petr Cech to raise money for a good cause.

England played a World XI with both teams full of names, but it was TV presenter and former lower league player Mark Wright who stole the spotlight for all the wrong reasons as ITV viewers laid into him during and after his performance.

Viewers were outraged as they felt that Mark Wright 'robbed' Chunkz during the charity friendly, which is raising money for UNICEF.

Many felt that Mark Wright, who briefly played for Crawley Town in League Two, was taking proceedings far too seriously - and even David Beckham weighed in.
