Mark Birighitti close to Dundee United loan exit as Tannadice keeper targeted for Israel switch
Mark Birighitti is considering a loan switch to Israel.
An Israeli Premier League club has opened talks with Dundee United over a season-long move. The deal would need to be completed today before the transfer window closes in Israel this evening. The Australian international is surplus to requirements at Tannadice.
The 32-year-old now has to decide whether to go and play or to remain on the fringes at United. Birighitti has not featured for United this season and is unlikely to with Jack Walton No. 1 and Scotland under-21 keeper Jack Newman as his deputy. The former A-League keeper of the year moved to United from Central Coast Mariners last year but has struggled to hit those same heights in Scotland.
