Margate player-manager Ben Greenhalgh says keeping plethora of options happy will be real test this season as goalkeeper James Batt and Yaser Kasim and Ronnie Vint rejoin

Player-boss Ben Greenhalgh admits it will be a real task to keep Margate's plethora of options happy for the rest of this season.

Gate have significantly strengthened, bringing in goalkeeper James Batt from divisional rivals Beckenham Town to fill the void left by No.1 Tom Wray (knee) and with No.2 Reece Hobbs getting regular first-team football at Rusthall, as 19-year-old Batt came straight in for their 1-1 Isthmian South East draw at in-form Sevenoaks last weekend.

The returning duo of midfielder Yaser Kasim and defender Ronnie Vint also started the game at Sevenoaks from the substitutes’ bench. Iraqi international Kasim, 34, was introduced in the second half while 29-year-old Vint remained unused.

Margate’s trio of signings have left plenty of selection headaches - particularly in midfield - for Greenhalgh to contend with, alongside No.2 Adam Flanagan and coach Elliot Leveson.

Greenhalgh said: “We have brought in three players. One was desperately needed, with Tom Wray getting injured in training in the week.

“That was frustrating because I have said in pretty much every interview this season we want to start playing the same XI. But we have done really well to get James Batt in and Beckenham really helped by not making us wait the seven days to get him.

“The other two offer so much experience. Ronnie Vint is someone we need to try and get a run of games, but we have been defending well in the last two games.

"With Yaser, we will probably look to start him because of the experience he has. He came on and controlled the game on Saturday, and offered us brilliant possession.

“We have got so many different players now - and different midfielders. They all do different things and complement each other.
