Marcus Tavernier and Dael Fry contracts clarified, with Middlesbrough under no pressure to sell

Middlesbrough are under no pressure to sell star assets Marcus Tavernier and Dael Fry this summer, with both contracted at the club until June 2024. Both are understood to be attracting interest from Premier League clubs, with strong reports suggesting Bournemouth are reportedly considering a move for Marcus Tavernier.

There has been much confusion around the exact date that both will be out of contract at the club, but Teesside Live have once again had it definitively confirmed that the pair are under contract until June 2024. With two years remaining on both of their deals, and neither expected to try and force a Boro exit this summer, the club will be under no pressure to sell should official offers be lodged.

Reports have suggested that newly-promoted Bournemouth are readying a move for Tavernier, but is likely to need to be bigger than the reported £10 million fee given Tavernier's contract situation. The two academy products both feature heavily in Chris Wilder's plans as he looks to rebuild the squad this summer, though there is an appreciation that every player has a price.
