Marcus Rashford sends six-word message to Manchester United fans after Barcelona draw

Marcus Rashford admitted he was 'disappointed' to come away with only a draw against Barcelona on Thursday night.

United battled hard to return from Camp Nou with honours even, fighting back from 1-0 down to take the lead via Rashford's arrowed finish and an own-goal from Jules Kounde. Raphinha returned Barcelona level when his dangerous cross curled straight in to send both sides to Old Trafford next week with it all to play for.

Rashford and his Reds side enjoyed a clinical period just before the hour, their two goals in seven minutes turning momentum their way, but failed to see out the remainder of the 90 minutes and found themselves pegged back later on.

And while a draw undoubtedly hands United the advantage going into next Thursday's home leg, the 25-year-old admitted his disappointment at not being able to fly back from Spain with the advantage.

Alongside a picture of himself after the game, he wrote: "Disappointed to only get a draw."

While scores remain level, United have the advantage of a home leg when the pair meet again next Thursday. Erik ten Hag will have both Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer available following their respective one-game suspensions, while Barcelona suffered a blow of their own after Gavi picked up his third European booking of the season, forcing him to sit out the return leg.

The United boss was also slightly disappointed not to have come away from Catalonia with the advantage, but admitted the performance against La Liga's top side was a positive one.

"If you face the number one in Spain in an away game and you are that dominant, you see that as a positive," the Dutchman said..
