Marcus Rashford reveals what Erik ten Hag said at half-time of Manchester United vs Omonia Nicosia

Erik ten Hag told his Manchester United players he wanted them to be more dynamic at half-time against Omonia Nicosia.

United were heavy favourites heading into Thursday night's match against Omonia in the Europa League group stage, but the Cypriot side threatened to cause an upset in the first half when scoring on the counter-attack just before the interval.

Erik ten Hag responded to that setback by introducing Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, who helped to change the game. Rashford scored within minutes after being substituted and he eventually scored another, while he also assisted Anthony Martial.

United completed the comeback to defeat Omonia 3-2 and Rashford was interviewed after the game to discuss the display.

"Yeah, it's definitely job done, but we'd have liked to have played better," Rashford told BT Sport. "I wouldn't say we defended bad, I think it was just mistakes and mistakes happen in football, so we have to move on. The fewer mistakes we can make, the better.

"The first 45 minutes, until they scored, we played well, we had good movement, but we probably could have got in behind them a bit more to be a bigger threat on the ball. I thought we played well, watching the first-half.

"When he [Ten Hag] made the subs, he wanted us to be more dynamic, take our chances going forward and to try score goals. When you're 1-0 behind, that's what you need to do, so it was positive changes at half-time."

Rashford now has five goals and three assists in eight games this season.
