Diogo Dalot sends message to Manchester United subs after Omonia Nicosia game

Diogo Dalot has told Manchester United's substitutes to keep making an impact off the bench after Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helped them avert disaster in Cyprus.

United were 1-0 down to Omonia Nicosia at half-time in the Europa League and in trouble against a side who had won just one of their last 26 games in Europe outside of qualifiers.

But Rashford came on at half-time and scored within eight minutes, before Martial scored a minute after he came on. Rashford added a third before a late consultation from the Cypriots.

It means United's last five goals have been scored by substitutes and Ten Hag continues to be ruthless with his changes, making half-time subs in six of his 10 games in charge so far.

Dalot was delighted with the impact off the bench in the Europa League and urged his teammates to keep proving their worth even if they're not starting.

"We want to build long-term a squad, we’re not 11 players, we had a lot more quality on the bench and this shows to the manager they want to play as well. We want more of this, it will give us more as a team and in the future it will benefit us," he told MUTV.

United had dominated the first 35 minutes in the GSP Stadium but fell behind to a goal on the counter-attack and had a couple of nervous moments after that, with Dalot lamenting a lack of control.

"We knew we would come to a tough place, we started well, and first 35 minutes was really good," he said.

"After we conceded we could take a bit more control, we conceded some counterattacks and corners we should avoid, at the end a good reaction in the second half.

"We knew with the fans it would be a good atmosphere, they would be motivated to play
