Marcus Rashford makes Manchester United pledge after reaching 30 goals

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has paid credit to both the club and his teammates after scoring his 30th goal of the season in Thursday night's 4-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Back in the matchday squad after missing the wins over Wolves and Bournemouth through injury and illness respectively, the England international notched United's fourth goal of the night, pouncing on some shambolic Chelsea defending. He had stepped off the bench in the first half to replace Antony, after he was forced off on a stretcher through injury.

Rashford's tap-in from close quarters capped off a fine evening for United as they wrapped up a top four finish and Champions League qualification for next season. They had gone into the game requiring just a point to get the job done.

On a personal note, it marked Rashford's 30th goal of the campaign in all competitions, meaning he became the first United player since Robin van Persie exactly a decade ago to reach that magic number. His Reds career has been resurrected this season after scoring a paltry five goals last term.

"I want to thank the club and my teammates for helping make this personal achievement possible," Rashford posted on Instagram. "After last season, when I struggled for form and fitness, I just wanted to get the feeling back of scoring goals and winning games that's what has happened this year.

"Long may it continue. We have two games to go, and we will give everything to lift another trophy."
